On the rooftop of Hotel Cavallino Bianco – Weisses Roessl, there lies a sanctuary reserved for guests—a quiet extension of the spa and leisure.

The air carries a trace of warmth from the thermal waters, while the mountains stretch endlessly on the horizon. Wrapped in robes, guests often pause here with a drink in hand, watching the sky slowly change its colors. It was always meant to be the crown jewel of the hotel—a rooftop haven where luxury meets nature.

Years ago, a transparent PVC igloo dome was added to the rooftop. It promised shelter from wind and rain, keeping the valley and sky within sight, so that no matter the weather, guests could still embrace the vastness of nature. At first, it was enchanting: dining beneath the stars, resting safely when sudden rain arrived. But time told another story. The PVC surface began to lose its clarity. Sunlight turned it yellow, storms left it fragile, until a hazy film stood between the guests and the view. Cracks were spreading. The rooftop’s soul—the landscape itself—was slipping away.

That was when they turned to us.

We knew the space deserved more than a temporary repair; it needed a true upgrade. We introduced a new transparent igloo dome built with polycarbonate (PC) panels. Unlike PVC, PC withstands both harsh sunlight and stormy weather, staying clear and strong for years. And for clients who seek the ultimate clarity, PC panels can even be upgraded to glass—offering an even purer, more seamless connection to the landscape.

When the new dome was set in place, it felt like the rooftop was reborn. Guests could once again lie back and watch day fade into starlight, with every detail of the mountains visible, no longer blurred or obscured.

Today, this rooftop finally fulfills its original vision: protective yet open, sheltered yet transparent.

For hoteliers and restaurateurs, this project is a reminder: outdoor spaces are not just about covering guests from the weather. They are about creating experiences that endure—supported by materials that protect the view rather than hide it.
