Perched at the highest point of the Southern Island in New South Wales, where the breeze gently brushes past your ears, you can almost hear the sky changing hues. This is the perfect place to catch both sunrise and sunset—and now, it’s also home to a newly completed 8-meter hybrid dome structure.
Blending a durable green PVC cover with a wide glass sliding door, this dome is both robust and visually inviting. Whether it’s the first golden light of dawn or the soft glow of dusk, it streams in effortlessly through the expansive 3.2×2.1m sliding door, making every moment a view worth living in.
The sliding door features 5+5mm double-glazed insulated glass, paired with an insect-proof mesh screen to ensure smooth ventilation, natural light, and protection from insects or gusty winds. Above, the upgraded skylight uses 8mm polycarbonate panels, offering better UV resistance than standard PVC. Even on a midsummer afternoon, the interior remains bright and cool—you can read a book without turning on the light.
Inside, the upgraded insulation layer offers enhanced waterproof and anti-mildew performance, with a thicker and softer finish for added comfort. Multiple interior material and color combinations are available to match various glamping styles. In this project, we selected a soft beige tone for a cozy, welcoming ambiance, paired with the forest-green PVC exterior for a perfect balance between nature and home.
It feels like a quiet lantern in the woods—calm, comforting, and always glowing.
The dome is divided into a bedroom, a compact dining area, and a lounging zone. It’s not flashy, but it’s undeniably cozy—a transparent sanctuary that captures both sunlight and silence. It’s more than just a tent; it’s a way of living inside the landscape.
